Q: HOW DOES HOMEWORK SUPPORT WORK?

MathZone's Homework Support is an online tutoring option. MathZone offers tutor availability up to 10pm on weeknights and by appointment on weekends. Tutoring is conducted online using a video connection running within a web browser.

Q: WHAT SUPPORT CAN I GET?

Currently, our tutors provide assistance with understanding and completing homework tasks covering Math & Physics. Math topics include Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus.

Q: HOW DO I CONNECT WITH A TUTOR?

An active account is required so MathZone can connect you to a tutor. Accounts are created when a tutoring option package or subscription is purchased. You can click here to purchase a tutoring option, connect and get started now. If you already have an account, sign in, select the subject matter here and start a session when you need help - subject to Tutor availability.

Q: WILL I JUST BE GIVEN ANSWERS TO MY HOMEWORK? 

MathZone prides itself on providing students with a better understanding of the concepts being taught by their school teacher. Our students will be taught how to solve a given problem on their own. There are no shortcuts!

Q: CAN I PICK AND CHOOSE FROM AVAILABLE TUTORS?

Absolutely! Tutor availability is always visible in the scheduling software used by MathZone. Tutors are reserved by scheduling your session with them up to the total number of hours permitted within your package or subscription option. 

Q: CAN I SCHEDULE A SESSION WITH A TUTOR?

MathZone's scheduling software allows a student to connect to an on-demand session with any available tutor or schedule an appointment with a tutor they may have interacted with on a previous occasion. Scheduling with a tutor requires you to login to your active account, select the subject you need support with and choose from all available tutors.

Q: WHAT IF THE TUTOR I CONNECT WITH CAN'T HELP ME?

While this is likely to be a very rare occasion, MathZone will credit the time used in the unsuccessful session. Rest assured, tutors employed by MathZone are thoroughly vetted and their experience is closely matched to the subject matter they are chosen to support students with. Any session a student is unhappy with will first be reviewed by MathZone. Should it not meet the standards and expectations we have set, the session will be credited to your account. Our service is unparallelled and MathZone will not compromise a student's experience or learning opportunity.

Please send an email to admin@mathzone.us and describe the issue you are experiencing. We're available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, EST and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST.

Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO USE HOMEWORK SUPPORT?

MathZone offers flexible, one-time purchase or subscription plans to best fit with student's study schedules and ad-hoc need for tutoring. Our complete details are available on our Support Pricing page. Access it here. 

Q: HOW DO I BEST USE MY SESSION TIME?

Most students that utilize MathZone's Homework Support program need support fast. Sessions are one hour in duration and are scheduled in that manner. A student may use the entire hour or part thereof. A session is considered "used" whether the full hour is utilized or not.

Q: DO I HAVE TO COMMIT TO A LONG-TERM CONTRACT?

No. MathZone offers one-time purchase of hours or monthly subscriptions with varying numbers of hours. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time prior to the next scheduled billing cycle. Cancelling a subscription means your credit or debit card will no longer be charged. Any unused hours in a one-time package or a subscription are forfeited. Refunds for unused hours are not provided.

Q: CAN I CHANGE MY PLAN WHENEVER I WANT?

Yes, plans may be changed to suit your circumstances within the following guidelines: Subscriptions may be cancelled prior to the next billing cycle. One off plans must complete before a new plan can be selected. 

Q: CAN I CANCEL MY PLAN AT ANY TIME?

Yes, you can cancel at any time. For a full refund of any plan, the plan must be cancelled prior to the commencement of any tutoring. If tutoring for a subscription plan has commenced, it may only be cancelled prior to the next billing cycle. For subscription plans, you will be able to complete the allocated hours from the plan in the month of cancellation. One-off package plans are subject to a 50% cancellation fee if tutoring has commenced. 

Q: CAN MY PLAN BE PLACED ON HOLD?

Yes, under these circumstances: Subscription and one-off package plans may be placed on hold for a maximum of 2 months.

Q: FORMS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED BY MATHZONE?

MathZone accepts he following credit cards: Amex, Visa, MasterCard, Discover. Diners Club is not accepted. Debit cards are accepted. Personal or company checks are  not accepted. Billing address must be within the USA or Canada.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS TO UNUSED TIME FROM MONTH TO MONTH?

It is expected that tutoring sessions under a subscription option will be used each month. Any unused subscription hours or portions thereof will not roll over from one month to the next. This also applies to one-off package plans. If a plan is cancelled, all eligible hours under the plan that was cancelled may be used until the end of that month.

Q: DO I HAVE TO USE MY ENTIRE HOUR IN A SESSION?

No. We've found that sessions typically last about 20-30 minutes - enough to get over the problem you're working on. You can work with a tutor for as long as you need.

Q: HOW DO I DRAW ON THE WHITEBOARD?

You can draw on the whiteboard by using any of the drawing tools available on the Whiteboard.  You can also type, fill, erase or use the laser pointer to highlight or point out something to your tutor. We've found that using an electronic graphing pad is great for discussing and drawing math problems.

Q: CAN I ERASE DRAWINGS FROM THE WHITEBOARD?

Yes. The Whiteboard has tools like the Scissor tool or the Eraser tool for erasing sections of whiteboard content.

Q: IS LINED OR GRAPH PAPER AVAILABLE ON THE WHITEBOARD?

Yes. Clicking the Graph Paper icon will overlay lined or graph paper on top of the Whiteboard.
